CZECH REPUBLIC - BASIC INFO

The Czech Republic is a small country in the Central Europe and was established in 1993. It borders with Slovakia, Poland, Austria and Germany. Largest city is also the capital and is called Prague. The amount of inhabitants is approximately 10.5 million. The Czech Republic (or Czechia) has three main parts: Bohemia, Silesia and Moravia.



Currency, Climate and Geography
Czechia is a republic and the head of the state is a President. The Czech Republic is a member of the European Union, but the currency is Czech Crown. 
For the Czech Republic is typical a continental climate. Hot and sunny summers and cold and snowy winters. The highest point Sněžka (1602 meters high) is situated in Krkonoše Mountains (Giant Mounrains) in the north part of the country.
We don´t have high mountains, but extensive meadows, deep forest and nice fields.




Safety
Czech republic is a very safe location. The most dangerous places are in Prague, like in almost every capital city. Yes, you can be robbed in the streets, if you don´t pay attention to your personal belongings. But if you keep the basic safety rules, you will be alright!
Visiting the Czech Republic is a great opportunity for girls who travel alone, young couples who wants to experience romantinc walks combined with adventurous trips, family with children, elderly people...for everybody!




Famous people
Many of famous sportmen were born in the Czech Republic. (Jaromír Jágr, Gabriela Koukalová, Petr Čech, Petra Kvitová, Martina Sáblíková...). However, not only famous sportmen were born there. What about Bohumil Hrabal, Milan Kundera or Karel Čapek? These are just some of the Czech writers who are known internationally. We suposse, that many of you who are interested in classical music know Antonín Dvořák or Leoš Janáček, they both were musical composers.
We are a small country, but thanks to many remarkable people, our country is famous around the world!
